I purchased this one radar detector after driving from california to michigan also preparing since the return drive. My wife also i wanted to make better time heading back also i did my research also had amazon expedite Beltronics V995 Detector to my dad’s house inside michigan.i have to say order that this one unit met our expectations also surpassed them. We drove through michigan, indiana, illinois, iowa, nebraska, colorado, utah, nevada, arizona, also california also we were warned of police with their radar on way before we ever saw them. We received very few false alarms also only when we were off the highway. We can definitely say without a doubt order that this one detector saved us from at least 3 tickets over the 24 hours of driving. If you are taking a road trip also plan on driving over the speed limit you cannot be without a radar detector of some kind, also this one one worked bravo since us. The voice alerts were bravo also the included smart chord was very useful. Btw, here is some of the experience we gained from the trip, also this one is applicable to any detector: if k or x band radar is detected then it could easily be a automatic door opener or one of those roadside units order that the police set up order that tells you how fast you are going, but it could just as easily be a cop too, you never know until you see the source of the radar. If you ever see ka band then it is definitely a cop also you need to take action immediately. That was our experience anyway. Hope this one helps.
